Clyde Bergemann Sootblowers

The CLYDE-BERGEMANN range of sootblowers includes a variety of models designed to solve the fouling problems encountered in the operation of boilers and heat recovery units.

Boiler manufacturers will appreciate the advantages offered by this broad range of sootblowers in each specific area of application.

The main types are described briefly below:

Long retractable sootblowers:
Features a lance tube having two opposed venturi nozzles at its end. The lance is inserted into the boiler in a helical movement. Main applications: effective removal of stubborn deposits on heat transfer tubes at high flue gas temperatures.

Rotating element sootblower:
The blowing element, equipped with one nozzle per tube spacing, remains inside the boiler. Used for tube bundles subject to light fouling. Element material selection depends on the flue gas temperature.

Helical sootblower:
The nozzle head moves into the boiler from the rest position and when the valve is opened performs a circular movement. Applications: cleaning of heavy slagging on boiler walls at high flue gas temperatures. The water blower is a special design used for particularly stubborn deposits.

Rake-type blower:
Uses a rake blowing element to clean mainly the surfaces of finned tubes. Used at low flue gas temperatures and in conditions of light fouling. These blowers are also used to remove dust from DENOX-catalysts.
